J&K tourism participates in SATTE, New Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 31: Department of Tourism J&K participated in 3-day South Asian Travel and Tourism Exhibition (SATTE) Travel Show which began here on Wednesday.

SATTE is one of the biggest travel shows in Asia which has become the launch platform for tourism stakeholders from across the globe to do business in and with India.

Besides, J&K Tourism department, over hundred travel agents, hoteliers, other service providers and heads of the various travel and hotel associations from the Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions are participating in the travel show to promote J&K.

Secretary Tourism J&K Sarmead Hafeez and Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood A Shah along with other senior officers from the department participated in the travel show.

Secretary Tourism said SATTE attracts professionals in travel and tourism from across the globe who generate business for the industry.

“SATTE is one of the largest tourism shows in Asia where we can project and prmote our tourism destinations. The department will provide all the information about the J&K’ s destinations, products, services to the visitors to attract them to the state,” he said.

Over 20000 visitors including domestic and international sellers and buyers, State tourism officials, heads of international tourism boards, hoteliers, and aviation experts are showcasing their products and services to the global trade community.

The travel show also provides an opportunity for the state tourism department to conduct business sessions with the visitors during the three days.

The department at its pavilion showcased short movies on different destinations to the visitors who were mesmerized to see the stunning beauty, splendid art and craft beside unique food of the state.

On the first day, large number of visitors turned up at J&K Pavilion to enquire about J&K’s tourism products, new destinations and infrastructure development.

The department informed them about the pilgrim, MICE, heritage, art & craft, food, known and lesser known destinations of all the three regions of the state.

The department also distributed comprehensive publicity material in the form of brochures, pamphlets etc containing videos to the visitors showcasing state’s tourism potential.

The department is also holding a press conference and ambassadors’ meet at New Delhi in association Travel Agents Association of Kashmir.

The meet has been organized in order to make efforts to dilute travel advisories from different European countries on Kashmir.

MVD Conducts Inspection of Vehicles, Seized 09 Vehicles

Bandipora, 11 May: Assistant Regional Transport officer (ARTO) Bandipora Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi along with Inspector Mohammad Younis and Inspector Ab Hameed conducted checking of vehicles on various route of Bandipora and recovered fine from the traffic violators, which included use of pressure horns, driving vehicles without requisite documents and not wearing helmets.
During checking at Bandipora and adjoining areas, ARTO Bandipora seized 09 vehicles and recovered fine from violators of traffic rules.
While talking to this reporter, ARTO Bandipora said that the checking was conducted on the directions of Transport Commissioner Kashmir that the checking of vehicles would continue. The inspection team also informed the people about their duties towards observing traffic norms and road safety rules while traveling and said that it was the prime duty of the commuters to raise their voice against  overloading and use of mobile phones by the drivers at the time of driving. ARTO warned the drivers of passenger vehicles to strictly adhere to the traffic rules to avoid any action from the department.

AMT School Bandipora functioning without Staff;Students Suffer badly

Bandipora Health Sector already in news for its wrong deeds from last 09 months is showing no signs of any improvement in any sphere of its Administrative units. Be it hospital management, availability of Medicine,Doctors and para medical staff is at receiving end.

The only and the first professional institute here in North kashmir’s Bandipora district which started functioning from January 2017 had 43 students enrolled for 03 different paramedical courses who were selected merit basis. The only facility which the institute posses now is its infrastructure and non teaching staff deputed from district hospital bandipora while lacking the most important teaching staff and head of the institution.

Pathetic part of the presently is that despite the dearth of teaching staff, institute provided admission to another batch of 40 number of students selected for current session i.e 2018-19, dectemating the future of already suffering of batch 1st candidates.

Block Medical Officer Bandipora claims that he has the additional charge of Principal AMT School and visits the institute once a month. Students say that BMO only visits the institute for his personal matters and acts very casualy. They further say that he never pays any heed towards the demands of suffering students and has been paying deaf ear to their genuine demands, students at AMT school said.

“Whenever we complained to BMO about the dearth of teaching staff he directs them to visit hospital for clinical practices leaving all codal formalities aside,” a student wishing anonimity said.

“Patients also feel inconvenience because of presence of students roaming in hospital sections without having any clue of clinical practices,” an attendent lamented.

Students claim that they attend the institute regularly, but are being taught by “volunteers and one staff member of district hospital for few days in a week”.

Students while narrating their ordeal shared that “if they will not attend the institute, the time is not far when the institute will be locked and the district will be deprived from this basic facility:.

When this reporter contact Principal AMT school Dr Syed Rehman he told, that “government has not yet created posts for the said institute, then question arises what was the fun to start new batch 2018-19 of 40 students if they were aware that they have already destroy the future of students 2017-18 batch”.

29TH ROAD SAFETY WEEK CONCLUDED IN BANDIPORA

Bandipora,30 April 2018: To spread awareness among general public about the road safety measures and traffic rules, a Road Safety Week which kick started last week concluded here today at mini secretrait Bandipora of this North Kashmir’s District.

The theme of this year’s Road Safety Week was “Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha”

”The conclusion programme was organised at Mini Secretrait Bandipora where District Development Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanie and Senior Superintendent Bandipora Zulfikar Azad in presence of Inspector’s Motor Vehicle department, Dysp Headquarter, Dysp DAR, Deputy Chief Education Officer Bandipora, District Sicial Welfare Officer, District Nodal Officer ISM Bandipor besides other Motor Vehicle Department officials distributed certificates and trophies among drivers and other personalities who participated in this road safety week.

Speaking On the occasion District Development Commissioner Bandipora said that it is the moral responsibility of every individual to spread message of road safety and hazardous effects of aggressive driving.

He said that road safety week started last week has concluded.

It was organised with the aim of following traffic rules and safe driving.

Meanwhile, correspondent Suhail Rather was also been felicitated during the ceremony.
